kG Krishnan was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1989. A journalist, photographer and spoken word artist, his art explores ideas concerning sexuality, gender politics and the intimacy of human relationships in contemporary cultural contexts.
As a commercial photographer and art director, kG Krishnan's clientele comprises design institutions, fashion designers, advertising agencies, filmmakers, musicians and lifestyle publications - for whom he produces images, film and fashion productions. His work has been published in Malaysia, Singapore, Spain and the UK.
He is a consulting art director and head photographer for a production house in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia while also an independent contributor to fashion and style journals both locally and internationally. In his monthly column, Strayshots (published in Clive Magazine by Catcha Publications), he writes about a variety of subjects ranging from art to social issues in Kuala Lumpur and takes a street photography approach to his work.

kG Krishnan is also working on a series of photo books, Continuum: Beauty portraits of Transmen and Transwomen in Malaysia. The first of 3 books debuted at the National Museum of Singapore as part of the Invisible Photographer Asia Photobook Show 2013.
